Film down the line, on the hitter's open side — in slow motion

This is what makes the 3D twin accurate. Stand where the hitter's chest is pointing so the camera sees the bat travel through the zone. Filming from behind their back only shows their back — the bat disappears, and bat path, contact and extension can't be validated.

  • • Square to the hitter's side, about waist height, 8–10 ft away.
  • • Slow motion at 240 fps (120 fps minimum) — otherwise the twin is estimated only.
  • • Whole body and the whole bat in frame, stance through follow-through.
  • • Switch hitters: whichever side they're batting from, film the open side.

Quick capture

Record now, in the app

Best for checking posture, sequence and balance. Your phone's browser caps recording at about 30 frames per second, which is not fast enough to measure the bat.

  • Side-by-side comparison
  • — No 3D twin, bat path or bat speed

3D twin

Record in slow motion, then upload

Needed for the 3D twin and anything involving the bat. A bat travels about a metre between frames at normal speed, so slow motion is not a nice-to-have — the detail simply is not captured otherwise.

Tip: Film down the line on the hitter's open side (righty: first-base line, lefty: third-base line), 3–15 seconds. Slow motion strongly preferred. Max 200MB.
